Zomick's Challah's profile

Colorful Challah Bread

Challah is a sweet bread, made with eggs and considered a more substantial bread than white bread eaten daily. In times before the Holocaust, throughout the former Union and Soviet Union and Europe, Jews considered bread made with eggs to be a meal of the rich. Sugar or honey was added to make the challah even more special. Challah is formed from three or more strands to create a braid.
