XD Challenge - Day 1
Introduction...
Hi everyone. I'm Tara; I'm a graphic designer with 15+ years of experience, predominantly Print and Publishing. I recently decided to make the move into UX/UI design. In doing this challenge for the next 10 days, I'm hoping to help bump up some skills and add some pages to my portfolio. I would love it if you followed along and offered feedback.
Challenge #1...
The first challenge from Adobe was to create an Event Web Page. You can check it out here: https://www.behance.net/dailycreativechallenge. Because it didn't specify what type of event. I went simple with party invite that is based on my birthday that happened a few weeks past. Sorry for the late invite, you can always join us next year.
Step 1...
First things first. Usually, when starting a project, the first thing I do is look for inspiration and do some quick sketching of ideas out on whatever scrap of paper is cluttering my desk. It makes sense to me.
Step 2...
Next I choose a style. As it is a party, I start with a vibrant colour theme. I pulled this swatch pattern from a simple google search. I used Adobe Fonts to look for an appropriate typeface. I have to say, I'm loving the update to Typekit, no more limits on where I can and can't use fonts, allowing me more ease when flipping between prototyping and print design. I liked Fat Frank for my headers and Forma DJR Text for my body. Next I checked out unsplash for a part image.
