BRYOPHYTES. Miniature worlds.
Last term, I did an essay on non-vascular plants: mosses, hornworts and liverworts. While often overlooked for their size, I find them very fascinating. Also they are the home for a tiny creature called water bear that looks like a hoover bag.
Most of the bryophytes photographed are in Scotland, I found a bunch of different species walking the West Highland Way, including a tree trunk with at least five different species right next to each other. A few pictures I took in the north of the Czech Republic.
A little easteregg for you who got to the bottom of this post: I called this 'miniature worlds' but there are two fairly large animals hiding in one of the pictures, so if you into these kind of things, enjoy looking for them. Cheers ^.^
