Designist collaborated with Sabaq to develop a more user friendly App to house education content for children attending Kindergarten and Grade 1. Our team began by conducting extensive design research which lasted for 6 weeks in which we visited Government schools and Sabaq Learning Centers. We had to learn how users were using the current Sabaq app, and had to observe how teachers and students were using the tablets with this existing educational content. 

After shadowing the users we conducted focus groups with the teachers and asked them about challenges they faced with the usability of the app. After the insights gained from the field research we had a deeper understanding of how users were interacting with the technology. Based on this we conducted a heuristic evaluation of the app and started mapping the user journeys. Once we had a holistic understanding of how the app was currently being used and the challenges the users were facing we came up ideas to tackle these issues. 

The main challenge the users faced was navigating through the app. We also identified that the app was being used differently at the Government Schools versus the Sabaq Learning Centers so we designed new flows for both the scenarios. Based on our insights we redesigned the information architecture and created wireframes which were then tested with our users. Once we received feedback we iterated our design, prepared the new art direction and designed the interface. We presented this to the Sabaq team and it is now in development to be tested in the field.
