Shop One²
In 2010, Shop One was reborn as Shop One² in Rochester Institute of Technology's Global Village as a place for RIT faculty, students, and staff to seetheir artwork, crafts, jewelry, furniture, and fashion accessories. Unfortuantely, Shop One² has been less known even for RIT students. Potential customers might hesitate to enter the Shop because they might think it is too mysterious. This evironmental design project was started with this problem.
The rising and falling curved line leads your eyes to the doors of the Shop. Linear pictograms that indicate Shop One²’s goods help customers know what they sell.  The pictograms will be a good encouragement for potential customers who are afraid to open the door of Shop One². For simple but strong design, solid white and symmetrical shapes were used.
Usage of solid color and symmetrical shapes have a strong visual strength, but may risk of boredom since it can be considered as too regular and rigid. To make this approach more playful, visual elements were added such as irregularly placed pictograms.
