The increasing number of tablets and other e-reading devi­ces makes the digitalization of publications more important than ever. Diverse technologies have been developed to bring the content to different displays. Therefore the publication has to be adapted in a proper way and this results in higher challenges to the designer.
But how to handle the different formats and what can be done to attract a specific target group? Which factors have to be thought of during conception and what‘s the priority in designing digital content? To which typographic and design related topics should be paid attention?
 
These and further questions will be answered in this thesis. Also, the basics of Gestalt and design in general will be explained and clarified.
This thesis represents a guide to the world of digital publishing, a helping hand for converting from print to screen – without explaining the realization with specific programs or the optimization for different devices in detail.
