This assignment explored the many different ways there are to break the rules of traditional typography. The first page is an 8.5" x 11" intro and the second is an 11" x 17" execution of the rule. I chose to not align type to the baseline, and doing so I created very expressive typography. This piece was published in a book titled "Terrain" along with the rest of my class.
"Type should flow freely, like a bird taking flight with wind flowing under its wings. Type should create its own baselines... it's about form and feel, not rigid and readable. Flowing. Fluid. Free."
