Heart of Iron | Ashley Poston

This Y.A. sci-fi book is 480 pages set in 5 parts and told in 5 different point of views. To keep the reader in line with where they are in the story, I set each part opener on the running head. Further, the chapter opener character is fairly prominent, letting the reader know whose point of view we are visiting. A rather standardly typeset interior.

Fortunately, The Milk | Neil Gaiman

A middle grade adventure in which a father's imaginative story about going out for milk encounters dangerous pirates, a time traveling stegosaurus, some vampires, and of course Galactic Police on the hunt for aliens who are breaking into other people's planets and redecorating them. Illustrations by the great Skottie Young interact with various type faces and styles. One of the most interactive stories and interiors I've had the pleasure to work on.
Midnight at the Electric | Jodi Lynn Anderson

2065: Adri has been handpicked to live on Mars. But weeks before launch, she discovers the journal of a girl who lived in her house more than a hundred years ago and is immediately drawn into the mystery surrounding her fate.

1934: Amid the fear and uncertainty of the Dust Bowl, Catherine’s family’s situation is growing dire. She must find the courage to sacrifice everything she loves in order to save the one person she loves most.

1919: In the recovery following World War I, Lenore tries to come to terms with her grief for her brother, a fallen British soldier, and plans to sail from England to America. But can she make it that far?

These three women's stories are connected through letters, diary entries and narrative. To keep the reader aligned with who is narrating and at what time period she is in, part openers, running heads and bolded dates help organize this amazing novel that spans over 100 years.
Love Sugar Magic | Anna Meriano

The sweetest little book centered around Leo, a little bruja in the making. While Leo might not have mastered magic in the kitchen, opportunity is available for the reader—a small recipe appendix brings these charming cookies to life. Packed with small spot art pieces and plenty of nested paragraph styles, this interior is designed to be both both charming and functional.
