Unravel is a typeface inspired by the building, The Red House, which was commissioned, created and home to William Morris. His belief that art should be affordable and hand-made is communicated through hand stitched lettering from a typeface of his own design 'The Golden Type.'

However, the life of William Morris was not as perfect as one might be led to believe as many elements of his private life deteriorated around him. With this in mind, the typeface is sewn onto water-soluble fabric. The following process enables the type to physically unravel and deform, emulating the deterioration of Morris’ personal life.
