Magarita Street Reimagine

This program is to transform Margarita Ave, San Luis Obispo into a livable street with low impact development
(LID) storm water treatment features. Also, the design will use Gustav Klimt (July 14, 1862 - February 6, 1918),
an Austrian symbolist painter, and his art works as inspirations, as paying my respcet to this great art master.
This project is to benefit the surrounding cmmunities by intergrating the site with features of Woonerf (livable
street in Netherland). The followings are some goals in this project: 1. consider multi range of users, by slowing
down the car circulations, adding bicycle lanes, and prioritizing pedestrian usage; 2 take Gustav Klimt as the
inspiration of the design, by utilizing square patthern and infuse the different patterns and use the boundary to
ceate forms; 3. provide spaces for public gathering, receation, and children playground; 4. intergrate
sustanable feature as the amenities of the design; 5. use ADA as the guideline of the design, and make sure the
handicap access; 6. create private and public spaces; 7. provide parking spaces for the communites and visitors,
and apply porous pavement for the parking space to reduce run-off; 8. consider the entry experience
for the users; 9. provide enough seatings for users, and ensure the scales of seatings are based on human scale;
10. provide sufficient night lights for safety; 11. apply different pavement to creat different spaces; 12. use
vegetation for creation of green space; 13. apply barriers of views for houses; 14. the design is also an
education of public about LID and stormwater treatment;
