The Brief: To design two double-page spreads for HighFly Inflight Magazine, promoting the Great Wall of China as a tourist destination for the adventurous traveller.
The Solution: To use effect type, layout and images to design two double page spreads that would promote the destination as an original ‘Wonder of the World’ and attract readers to this destination.
The Context: It was important to convey the vastness of this ‘wonder’ so the focus was to use one double page to show an image of the Great Wall with bold typography that not only resembled the peaks and troughs of the wall but also the colour of the Chinese flag. The second double page spread was used to off smaller, enticing images and a brief history into the location along with interesting facts to enhance their interest.
