This is a student project made in 2005 during my undergraduate studies in communication design in Istanbul. As the final project the class was asked to design a video game. I imagined the hand-slap, a children's game, in which the opponents try to slap each other's hands and at the end the one who makes the most slaps wins the game.
I wanted to create this experience through video fragments reflecting the hand gestures practiced in the real life version of the game - hitting the other's hands and pulling away one's own hands to avoid the slap - which users interact with by using keyboard. Besides these gestures the video game allows users to do some tricky movements as well like raising a hand as if slapping or doing a bluff with the eye movements of their avatar.
The project was thought as an online game and made using Flash.
Below there are some screenshots and gameplay videos.
