Red Hands - Computer game

This is a student project made in 2005 during my undergraduate studies in communication design in Istanbul. As the final project the class was asked to design a video game. I imagined the hand-slap, a children's game, in which the opponents try to slap each other's hands and at the end the one who makes the most slaps wins the game.

I wanted to create this experience through video fragments reflecting the hand gestures practiced in the real life version of the game - hitting the other's hands and pulling away one's own hands to avoid the slap - which users interact with by using keyboard. Besides these gestures the video game allows users to do some tricky movements as well like raising a hand as if slapping or doing a bluff with the eye movements of their avatar.

The project was thought as an online game and made using Flash.
Below there are some screenshots and gameplay videos.

Users can do a bluff with the eyes of their avatars as well. Pressing SPACEBAR creates an eye movement to the right or left direction in the avatar to distract the attention of the opponent and direct him/her to the wrong hand.
