Besides being seen by over 100,000 people across the Miami Valley, this artwork also had to be approved by the sponsors at Vectren and by the staff at the Wright Patterson United States Air Force Base before it could be used on the cover or on the sales flyer. All parties involved wanted something new and fresh, but also wanted something that stayed within the red,white and blue theme and included one of the Thunderbird planes that were to be in the 2009 show. I accomplished that by starting this piece off by placing the Thunderbird at the bottom and building from that. This was done in several programs including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Quark Xpress 6.5.
