Monument/Bridge Competition, Nanjing, China

These models were made for a competition in Nanjing, China, to celebrate the city's hosting the Youth Olympic Games in 2014.  The requirements were for a monument anchoring their new Central Business District, with a bridge crossing the Yangtze river as it winds through downtown.  I was placed in charge of the physical models that would be taken to the client as part of BAM's presentation.  Both models were first CNC'd out of high density foam, then coated with plaster of paris.  Shaping and connections between precariously cantileverd sections of bridging recquired delicate work.  The paint finish was applied with a HVLP gun and then clear coated.  Super fun project.
