Specimen – Monotype Grotesque

MONOTYPE GROTESQUE SPECIMEN
A specimen is a work tool: it allows the graphic designer – and previously to the typographer – to get familiar to the character and its potentiality, in order to take a conscious decision whether and how to use it.
THE AIM is therefore to design a specimen characters' family, in order to show the characteristics
of the chosen family in the most comprehensive and complete possible way, as well as to exploit the spaces wisely.
Text is distributed in various ways on a 9-column grid, to create an animated artifact, coherent with the features of the character. It is used – in addiction to black – a shade of the color blue.
