TEASER SHOT.
The Food Thief is a 1,5 minute short-film by Mindbender Animation Studio that is currently in production.
The film will be released on the internet and a release-date for the full film has not yet been announced.
THE RIGG – TECHNICAL BREAKDOWN
We made it a goal for ourselves to create a more flexible 3D rigg than anything we had done before. The solution became a rig with sliding body parts that could be turned on or of between the different poses. The rig was created with the help of the brilliant minds at Kippcase rigging studio.
2D ANIMATIC / THE FULL STORY.
Before we started animating we made a detailed 2d Animatic of the film. This is the stage where much of the story is developed and locked down. Since all the humor is without any dialouge, this visual way of story development makes it much easier to get a feeling for how the gags will play out in the final film.
MAKING OF (STILLS).
For the look of the Food Thief we wanted everything to look like a miniature stop-motion-set. To reach the intended look we chose to work with Dockus Animation Studio (Sweden) that helped us build most of the items seen in the film. The set was then shipped to Luxembourg where each object where 3D scanned by Hervé Steff.
