TerraSuisse Wild flower lottery

How do you make Switzerland bloom?
In order to increase the brand awareness of „TerraSuisse“, we launched a lovingly designed Facebook page. All that was missing were the fans.

Our solution: The „Habitat Project“. Terra Suisse donated  1m² of wild flower seeds per new fan.

In the spring of 2012, we generated over 20,000 fans and the contract farmers planted their unused acreage with wild flowers.

Simultaneously, in order to arrange a unique Facebook lottery, we laid out a flowerbed. The whole bed could be seen by all fans via webcast.

There were nine crocks in the flowerbed, and under every crock there was a different kind of flower. The users betted on which combination of flowers was under the crocks.

At 5 pm, our farmers revealed the crocks live and the winners were notified. For one week, the flowers were repositioned on a daily basis, so the fans could join in again. To provide entertainment and other viral distribution, the fans had the possibility to “Like” decorations like a bee hotel or a windmill. Furthermore, it was possible to send greetings via the flowerbed, and as grand finale, we had a small fireworks.

The result: over 25,000 new fans, 21,709m² planted with wild flowers, 450 lucky winners and a blooming Switzerland.
