This was a personal project that I did for an art show. It is entitled "To Be a Young Artist."

This piece features a young girl in black and white partially standing out of a floating frame. She is pointing out at the colorful world around her. The brushes, pencil, palette moon, and pen that jut out of the mountain range are meant to symbolize the artist's journey of discovering different mediums that they prefer and choose to use. The mountains themselves represent the difficulty of choosing art over more academic and socially accepted career paths, along with the hardships of finding one's style.
