Humanitea
Linking humans through the simplicity of a cup of tea.
This project began as a mixed media painting made of used tea bags collected from friends, family and colleagues. Then I decided to merge the contributors of the teabags with the end result artwork.
Each poster emulates the effect of a transparent tea stain overlaid with the vibrancy of each person's character.
These photos seek to visually link the people and journey involved in enjoying a daily cup of tea. From the hardworking tea pickers, whose faces are represented on each individual tea bag, to the distances the tea is shipped across, to the people who drink this daily cup of tea with me thus supplying me with the media needed for my project. They explore the intimacy and humanity between people.
