LEARNING BY DOING - II
Series of Workshops with Design Students
As a part of the module - 'Critical Thinking, Cultural & Contextual referencing in Art and Design' at Arch college of Design, Jaipur, I encouraged the students to step out to explore the city museum. Upon returning they shared their experience of what they liked/did not like. I encouraged them to pick an artifact they really liked and enquire more about it by conducting an ethnographic study of it. Since they had just joined college, this workshop gave them a chance to explore, develop critical thinking and acquire research skills. In the process, they also developed a sense of ownership for their projects and it turned into a very interesting, investigative process where the students learnt about creating something from scratch. They developed a wearable product which had a historical reference and was created using 80% waste and recycled materials.

We concluded this workshop with a Wearable Art Show where the students showcased their wearables along with a complete documentation of process.
