30 Years and a New Identity for Ascendant

Ascendant Neighborhood Development was renamed after 30 years since its founding. A refreshed visual identity was needed to communicate the organization’s vision to promote affordable housing for low income and elderly residents in New York’s East and Central Harlem neighborhoods — while providing a higher quality of living.

We created a typographically distinct logo that reflects their aspirational approach to affordable housing. A vibrant orange wordmark with a custom and architecturally ascending “A” were created to visually tie the organization to its tagline of “building homes, raising up communities.” We also created their branding style guide, stationery system, and designed a “30 Years” logo edition for use throughout the anniversary year.
