Logo Design - TEMBO
I was asked by my alma mater to create a logo for their newly created developmental men's team - TEMBO - counterpart to their first men's team - BOOYA. The A-team's mascot is a pink elephant (whose origins are lost to the annals of collegiate oral history), so we worked together to create a suitable identity to match.
Pulled references that best exhibit the silhouette of the subject as well as the defining characteristics - the mane, the teeth, and the blue crest along the crimson nose (why are they even like that? I don't know, but it makes for a truly iconic display).
Initial thumbnails drawn in Photoshop before moving onto Illustrator. Also determined a color palette (the A-team's elephant mascot is pink, so we stuck with a consistent color scheme between the teams, while throwing in a light blue accent).
Trying different line weights and options for eyes. Playing with leg placement to determine a working silhouette.
Upon completion, 2 versions were delivered (full-body and head-only), with options for 4-, 3-, 2-, and 1-color screen printing.
