Project Brief
Project DancePointe aims to create a dancing academy in the heartland of Tiong Bahru. This project objective is to strengthen the community bond between the various age group and to introduce a healthier lifestyle to the heavy populated elderlies in Tiong Bahru. The dance classes consist of various dance styles to cater to the likes of both the young and old crowd.
Concept
The heavy use of glass open up the spaces visually, this allow visual interaction between the different dance rooms. To convert an old housing space into a modern minimalist dancing studio, this combination of classical and modern style echo the intention of the designer to encourage the young and old together within this community. The tilted axis of the studio orientate parallel to Tiong bahru community centre, this axis create a strong focal point visually for residents using the community centre.
