Even in the 21st century, women are rarely given the chance to run up a big corporation.  Way back in the 1960's,  in the ascent of corporations, women usually worked as secretaries or some other "not so important" job. The inspiration for this poster is from the hit TV series called "Mad Men", where girls are taken for granted and are not given the chance to prove themselves as important, creative and inovative as men. Luckily, the things are changing.
Women used to hide their "true identity", in order to get employed or just to be taken seriously about some issue. Often, the solution was to disguise themselves behind a portrait of a male character, for example the story of Pope Joan and later, in the Renaissance period female painters, musicians, artists were also disguising themselves as men so they could succeed.
