The Darkness of Blood, Title Sequence
A Bachelor Personal Project i did in 2017.
Pitch.
In a small city the darkness of blood come´s to appearance and put the city total out in confusing and behind the understanding. People die everywhere without an explanation the blood get spread from the eye. And in the deepest wood beside the city all the secret answers will be found to save the city from total death.
Work prosess
So from this Pitch I started to think how I could make something in shape animation. I have seen in commercial before that they have drawn houses with lines and started to look on google for inspiration videos but also inspiration photos that i maybe could trace things from in Illustrator to get the look i wanted. I found a image with close houses together that i traced and also a boat and trees.
When i do this kind of project i make all the Illustrator artwork on different art bords in Illustrator. This make it easy for me to see different outcomes of the objects. After i have the most of the objects i going to use i set up a new Illustrator file with Story board thumbnails that i can use for then pasting in line objects in to After Effects or export art-boards.
In this project i focused also on the camera. And then really when it comes to the last scene with the trees where i spend lot of time to get it as i wanted it to be coming in to the wood. This also because i have this man running in the scene. The man is done from fuse were i then put on a preset animation from Mixamo of him running. I have bought Video Copilot Element 3d (http://www.videocopilot.net/) that I´m pleased in working with 3D elements i put in to After Effects. The only bad thing is that i had to from Mixamo take it first into a student version of maya and export it from there into a Obj sequence that i could take into Element 3D. I wish i cold find a better way or that Element 3d could get support for doing the FBX export. If someone in her know some other metode I would be glad to now about it.
In After Effects i then made the man as a Track matte to get him to get the red colour.
Music design
The music for this peace was worked out in Cubase with inspirations from listen and discover from other Title sequenses. What i reflected on in that prosess was the thinking of building up the music peace. That it can start up some slow, have a going beat in the middel and then build up to something that have a feeling of exploding in the end. I got quit happy with this music peace i done.
