Every Friday around 500 Muslim men gather around the Ahle Sunnat Sunni Raza Jama Masjid outside Bandra railway station for ṣalāt al-Jumu'ah (Friday's prayer). ṣalāt al-Jumu'ah is a congregational prayer that Muslims perform every Friday just after 12 pm.

 It is offered in place of Zhuhr prayer. 

With the help of Bandra police, these prayers have been very efficiently organised for the past 20-25 years without disrupting daily commuters or causing a jam around the station. To protect the sanctity of prayer people are not allowed to halt on the skywalk. 

 For that brief hour on Friday, Bandra station is a sight to behold.
