POLITICAL AND SOCIAL POSTER SERIES

I am reflecting on worldwide issues and events
from climate change to terror attack. Some works below are part of the "Today poster" series that is organised by
the members of the Hungarian Poster Association. The posters mostly appear online, but we are also organising
exhibitions to reach further audience.

ELECTION 2018

SEXUAL HARASSMENT

Reformation 1517-2017
In 1517 Luther Martin proclaimed his 95 theses to the gateway to the Wittenberg Castle Church, beginning Reformation. Celebrating its 500th anniversary in 2017, the Hungarian Cultural Centre in Stuttgart organised an exhibition with the cooperation of the Hungarian Poster Association. Works of the graphic designers participating in the exhibition reflect the reformation, Luther and his doctrines from today’s people point of view.

Budapest OLyMPIC GAMES
Budapest has submitted a bid as a candidate city for the 2024 Summer Olympics. General outrage turned up in the capital and opposition political movements and parties began campaigning on the streets. Collected signatures for a referendum considering a bid for the Games an unaffordable splurge that would invite corruption, which is already a big problem in Hungary. The government moved quickly to end the bid themselves.

FREEDOM OF EDUCATION IN HUNGARY
Hungary, nowadays: the government is trying to shut down the Central European University (CEU) with illegitimate methods in Budapest. Thousands of people are fighting against the decree with constant demonstrations in the capital. It’s lot more than the school itself, its about freedom of speech, democracy, multiculturalism and critical thinking.

EDUCATIONAL CRISIS, 2017

Thousands of people are fighting against the decree with constant demonstrations in the capital. It’s lot more than the school itself, its about freedom of speech, democracy, multiculturalism and critical thinking. The clown king is referring to the Prime Minister, Mr Orban.

FEAR
Created for the Hungarian Poster Association's 'Poster Today' series after the terror attack in Paris.
Threat is constant, fear is everywhere. The one thing about violence that is certain: it’s coming and no one can predict it and prevent it.

MÁJASKRÉM/LIVER PATÉ
Donated by the Office of Immigration and Nationality in Hungary

Refugee crisis, Hungary 2015. The story about refugees who had to stay and wait in a various camps and they received canned liver pate from the Hungarian government. Nobody ate them because it contains components of pork. Ridiculous how they didn’t take care about cultural habits of the migrants and/or they didn’t even know this local product. Even though it is called poultry liver pate, still has ingredients of pork.

MÁJASKRÉM 2. /LIVER PATÉ 2.
Gyuszi is a very common name in Hungary.

CAN YOU CHANGE THE COLOR?
Climate Change in Bangladesh.

According to NASA forecast in 50-100 years half of the rice fieldsin Bangladesh will be under water because of sea level rise.
40 million people will be affected.

JUST WASH IT
30-year anniversary of Chernobil.

Due to the nuclear accident at Chernobyl in April 1986, the atmospheric transport spread the released radioactivity throughout the whole Europe. In Hungary the news came later asthe government tried to hide this information. Encouraging everyoneto go outside with the kids and eatfruits from the trees, vegetables from the fields “just have to wash it”. It became by a proverb. If you ask any of mothers or grandmothers in Hungary what they remember about Chernobil, they will answer it: We can eat salads, we just had to wash it.

MY TEDDY BEAR IS 30 YEARS OLD
30-year anniversary of Chernobil.

POSTER COLUMN
Thanks for a political media war in Hungary between the government and media outlet owner they start to liquidate the poster columns in Budapest. This action touched and shooked up the graphic designers and the whole professionregardless of any political view.
