Introduction to DevOps

Introduction to DevOps
In this GovLoop Academy course, our goal was to create an understanding of what DevOps is, and how it can improve developer and IT operation collaboration. We define the development process known as DevOps, outline the benefits of this approach and why it’s needed in government.

In the government tech industry, our team often works with abstract or complex concepts. Our challenge is to visualize cultural practices like DevOps in a way that is both visually meaningful and impactful. In typical GovLoop Academy courses, we work with subject-matter experts on a variety of topics, but our team notices trending topics like DevOps and creates editorial courses on one-off topics like these.
Learning about government IT is not the easiest thing to do. Sometimes the content can get heavy and technical, making it difficult for the learners. By avoiding the use of complex language and creating visually-interesting and relevant experiences, we are creating courses that are easily digestible. The course itself consists of narrated motion graphics along with knowledge checks that serve to reinforce learning. For all our courses, learning objectives are the first thing to be established. Both content and design are tailored to these learning objectives to create an engaging and interactive experience for our community.
Our mission at GovLoop is simple, connect government to improve government. By providing resources to increase knowledge about network modernization and providing solutions to the identified programs, we are fulfilling our mission of improving government.
