The concept of my collection “Forgotten Kingdom of Wonders “ was based on my trip to Cambodia. The place amazed me with its appearance and spirit. I visited many places while in Siem Reap: temples, butterfly centres, villages and country sides which has astonished me with their beauty.
Another area which I investigated was the metamorphosis which caterpillar goes through to become a butterfly. I study many shapes , colours and sizes of butterflies. The variation of the looks was enormous. As many as butterflies looks the chrysalis and pupas come also in great variation. I was stunned by the shape and beauty of the chrysalis and decide it would be fantastic shape for my garments in upcoming collection.
I have been working on several drawing and collage of the chrysalis and pupas to create the perfect garment shape. Collage and drawing lead me to discover fantastic draped form of the sleeves and body of the main garment.

I have researched many different areas during my stay in Cambodia. The most inspiring for me was temple wall carving. The stone carving and precision which this was done was incredible. I visited many temple and take hundreds of pictures of the stone carving and surrounding area. I though it could be amazing to reflect the beauty of it in digital print. I draw the stone carving and work with it on photoshop. My idea was to present this print looking really old and creating and antic look. I have looked at thermal photocopy machine and how I can create an antic look using heat on thermal fax machine paper. I have created a stains by spilling tea and rubbing tea bags into paper. The documents has been scanned and stains extracted to use in final print.
