Japan Travel Journal

In April 2012, after a grueling proposal and fellowship exhibition, I became the proud winner of the Frieda Fehrenbacher International Travel Fellowship. I proposed a graphic journey across Japan to study Japanese design, culture, and history. Last July I did just that, spending 16 amazing days in Japan.

This book is a "journal" of sorts, which focuses on short memories written about each place I ventured to. The cover paper was chosen because it reminded me of all the beautiful golden relics that I found in the Buddhist temples. The inner spreads are random, clean, simple, and beautiful to reflect Japanese design.
