A history behind the travel by sailboat around the world
A radical change in our life. Navigate the world and on a sailboat, through unknown corners. Walk and discover virgin places. It's not a dream. It is a real possibility that will undoubtedly change your life and make you very happy. You do not need big lengths to face such a beautiful challenge and there are many people who do it with boats of 10 to 12 meters.

15 years ago (in 2002) Ryan Richard Thompson told Kimberly when he is 40, they will be retired in the Caribbean and will have time to travel.

The most difficult thing is to make the firm decision to want to do it, to leave behind a busy life, a paid job and a professional career. It leaves behind everything that has been, the advantages offered by society and the comforts of anodyne life.

One circumstance led to another, and after a life changing car accident, that was fatal to the drunk driver that hit Ryan, the adventure started off earlier than at age 40 like Ryan and Kim had planned. When that situation did not turn out well, Ryan and Kimberly started their adventure with at the time 4 young children.

But from here all are advantages, winning in freedom, releasing stress, worry, the tedious routine that requires us to repeat the same thing day after day, throughout our lives, almost as a repetition of the day previous. Freeing ourselves and discovering our world will teach us to share, to live in depth, to get to know oneself, to enjoy the immensely beautiful corners that our planet still offers us, corners to which still the destructive civilization has not arrived.

First they traveled the USA and saw a lot of sites that were on the bucket list.  After that, the family headed to the Caribbean and bought a 45′ sailboat, and then did some island hopping until ending up in Puerto Rico.   While in Puerto Rico the family traveled the U.K and Ireland from January to March of 2017, and then returned to their island home of Puerto Rico.

A new book of life is opened and as the great 'JL Borges' said, you live more slowly, you learn to live barefoot, to go around more, to contemplate more dawns, to be happier. But if you do not finish deciding, even if you have the firm conviction to do so, think about 2 or 3 years 'sabbatical' dedicated to this beautiful adventure. Everyone who has tried it and tries to return to its old routine, realizes that it has changed, that "normal" life is no longer "his thing". In less than a year, he will decide to go back to sea. The change is profound and other aspects of life are valued. As long as there is desire and health, you can continue discovering the world and also your inner 'landscape'.

So the journey is under way, even without their lovely ship that they had intended to circumnavigate the globe with.   Their adventure now is on trains, planes and automobiles as well as the occasional boat or ferry ride.

Naturally it is necessary to save for several years to prepare this dream. It is necessary to learn many aspects that will be applicable during the day to day life on board. Traveling means a continuous discovery, receiving new teachings and new experiences. And the apprehended knowledge can be shared thanks to the Internet practically instantly.

Traveling in far corners of the world no longer means being disconnected from loved ones.
Neither everything is written nor everything is still invented and for this reason every day we discover a new person who makes his dreams come true. Surely you've heard of family world travelers who have left everything and have launched the adventure of going around the world, or others who have been doing it for years, couples who left their jobs and since then have not stopped touring a country after another. Do some of these examples come to mind? Surely yes. And what do you think if the project were to travel the world on a sailing boat? Did you know that many of those travelers one day became transmundistas and their way of life is to navigate the world? Would you like to live this Experience? If the answer is affirmative, you are interested in continuing to read this article because there is a traveling community. He lives in the sea and opens his boats to which we want to share part of his adventure.
