This is a simple motion graphic project which i did after learning Adobe After Effects in my my a module which I took this semester. The project brief requires the student to creat a 30 seconds motion graphic animation depicting a specific emotion, using only simple shapes.
The emotion that I have chosen to explore in the form of motion graphics is ‘joy.’ The colors used is strictly warm colors only to help establish a joyful mood throughout the video. The music used in the composition is called “Violet” by Bad Suns. It has an upbeat and cheerful melody that reminds me of sunshine, which I thought is an appropriate imagery to illustrate the feeling of joy. The music chosen helps to set the pace and timings of the scenes.
I have always associated the concept of ‘joy’ as a feeling which always builds up, and continue to increase when you experience it. Therefore, I used a lot of movements/transitions in which the shapes expanded, exploded, or multiplied throughout my composition.
