This was monumental effort for Boeing. The last update to standardized passenger and crew symbology was developed and certified by the FAA in 1978. Boeing's Dreamliner, "a new airplane for a new world" provided the opputunity for a much needed update to improve safety communication and passenger wayfinding.
This four year effort involved the adoption, integration and certification of "the running man" exit symbology.
