Road Trip Radio Mobile App Wireframes (Testable MVP)

Road Trip Radio is a mobile application concept that integrates two road trip-related services – GPS directions and music radio.

Using the app, a user can create a road trip route with similar functions to Google Maps. Once the route is activated, the app serves up a continuously curated music playlist based on the user's geographic location on that route. So, for example, as a user approaches Denver, the app serves up music related (in one form or another) to that geographic locale along with song/artist information that describes the music’s relevance. It could be John Denver’s classic “Rocky Mountain High” or Dave Matthews Band’s “Ants Marching,” played live in 1995 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in nearby Morrison.

The app acts like a radio in that a user cannot create his/her own playlist or go back to a previously played song. Instead, the user may only skip to the next song and/or save song titles to a list that can be looked up and/or bought later (through a third party like iTunes).

I completed wireframes for what I felt was a minimum viable product - twelve screens of the app. However, another ten to fifteen screens (at least) would probably be needed to do a near-complete app, including more GPS directions-related functions, error screens, and a way to input music preferences, to name a few. In addition, I completed user interviews and identified a few questions/concerns about my wireframe and flow that I plan to investigate further.
