AAT SALT GUARDS
These all-terrain assault troopers are specialized to operate in the severe environments of highly toxic salt plains with dangerous, extreme weather climates. They operate AAT hovercrafts and guns.
Fighters are recognizable by their attire: helmets for drivers and gun operators, hats protective from very high heat, heavy duster coats resistant to water and heat from magnesium bow rifles, goggles for flash and glare protection.
Each fighter also wears a respirator connected to a filter unit on his back under the jacket, as well as a command force Black Box for potential tracking of lost guards.
AAT SALT GUARDS are seen in Magnesium Bow. These photo-illustrations are concept art for costume layout and serve as production art for the Magnesium Bow Director’s Guide. After the costumes were designed and created, they were photographed and brought into Photoshop to use special filters to generate the Ironwolf aesthetic design.
Lance Wolf (Concept Artist, Illustrator) presents an in-depth look at production props. This video features the fabrication of the two production props for which Magnesium Bow is named. Through a time lapse presentation, you will see the Magnesium Bow-1 assault rifle and the Magnesium Longbow-2 long range tactical assault rifle fabrication process and weathering for these nonworking, camera ready props.
These life-sized production props were fabricated through the processes of scratch building and kitbashing and Nerf modding.
Production prop Magnesium Bow- 1 type 1 assault rifle measures 3” wide, 33”long and 20” tall.
Production prop Magnesium Longbow-2 type 2 long range tactical assault rifle measures 3” wide, 39”long and 21” tall.
