In an overly-saturated market —flooded with energy drinks and other functional beverages— where most companies are focused on a strategy that uses extreme sports in its language and imagery portraying avid athletes, we chose to set the company apart by employing a strategy that would be closer to people’s hearts. A strategy that portrays everyday people engaged in everyday activities: from working to spending time with family or friends, or practicing at the gym or playing some yoga. You will not see an unattainable body image. The focus is on real people in real-life situations. The concept is to cater to the thinkers and doers, the adventurers, the dreamers, the parents, and the millennials —those who are time-strapped and need the energy to pursue their passions and keep going. Having no energy or being obese gets in the way of people’s dreams and even their everyday life. And this is where Aztec Health’s Body Balance comes in to allow people to follow their passion without letting anything get in the way of their pursuit. Whoever they are and whatever they are into. This is a product that fuels people’s passion allowing them to thrive, keep going, be unstoppable, and enjoy life NOW.

The Mark was inspired by the Aztec Culture and the Symbol Ollin. Ollin is a word that can be found on the Aztec calendar and on many of the instruments used in sacred pre-Columbian ceremonies. Pronounced ALL-in, it’s an expression of immense depth that conveys intense and immediate movement. Stemming from the ancient Nahuatl language (the language of the Aztecs), it is the shape of the life-energy. Ollin is derived from “yollotl,” meaning heart, and “yolistli,” meaning life. Ollin means to move and act now with all your heart. It has a sense of immediacy, movement and NOW. It means to follow your path in life wholeheartedly. To experience Ollin we have to get “All-in”. This is directly connected to the brand’s message to thrive, keep going, and be unstoppable. The word “Ollin” and “passion” are two sides of the same coin. They are companions, inexorably intertwined. And for this reason, Ollin is the embodiment of Aztec Health’s core message: to follow one’s passion in life without letting anything get in one’s way. The mark’s quatrefoil (or x-shaped cruciform), is reminiscent of flapping butterfly wings which is also symbolic of transformation. The geometric pattern at the end of the quatrefoil modernizes the composition and gives it an up-to-date feel.
