Self-communication
know thyself ’is a proverb carved on Delphi. The ancient Greek philosopher Socrates also raised the opinion to know yourself and take care of your mind. In today’s information-filled society, different types of internet information fill our daily life and occupy our time. Sometimes even celebrity gossips seem more important than our own matters. We spend too much time on electrical products and have few time to communicate with ourselves. According to the survey, 54% of people addicted to Facebook and Twitter every day and 40% of people like playing smartphones at parties. All those show that we are paying too much attention to other people but ignore our inner worlds. Therefore it is necessary to analyze ourselves and I hope my work will raise people’s attention to themselves and the change of communication methods.

According to Japan Times, there are 173 million people in China suffering from mental diseases. In fact, those diseases are caused our indifference to our psychological system and body adjustment.
Such data surprises me and I think it is a social phenomenon worth us noticing. Now many people start to pay attention to mental health when problems appear, but I want to use my design to tell people to interact with themselves at any time.

Only by focusing on ourselves and discovering the essence can we have an active and healthy state to interact with others. Based on the visual aspect of traditional Chinese medicine, I draw elements from oriental philosophy and self-existing environment to conduct in-depth analysis of our physical and psychological system. The design conducts a research about ourselves and fulfills experimental discussions on graphic design, which, raises a question for modern people: should we pay more attention to things that we need?
