Ceramics 1, orange bowl

Orange tripod bowl
Forming: I started this with a slab of clay that I formed into a cylinder. Once I was happy with the seam I began to pinch the bottom into a triangle. I then sealed the feet together using slip and I squeezed all of the air out. After I was happy with the feet I added a little extra clay in the bottom to make sure it was flat. I then cut away the excess clay on the feet. After I was done with the feet I began to stretch the walls a little bit and thinned them out. I then had the bowl fired in the kiln.
Glazing: I used an orange gloss glaze for the body color to evoke a bright and cheerful feeling. I then used a light grey/white gloss to drip along the inside. I wanted to add a little flair to my piece rather than it being just a plain bowl.
Strengths: I am really proud of how sturdy my piece is. Normally my pieces are a little wobbly but this one wasn’t so bad!
Things to improve: I feel that I could have done better on making sure my walls were straighter but that is one of the only things that I feel needs improvement.
