The New Digital School - Web Presence

The main focus of this School resides in the digital media, focusing on design and development.
The New Digital School explores a new concept in education where giving the responsibility of defining the curriculum to the student. By having multiple masterclasses throughout the year and the possibility to collaborate in real projects, the students gather feedback from multiple sources defining their focus during the year.

The website was a real challenge because it was built on many abstractions. I had to convey the multiple possibilities without losing focus. Some concepts, like the possibility of choosing a specific path within the course, were represented by interactions that communicated the concepts in a more graphic manner.

The design process was very interesting due to the great proximity with the school. The content was found in parallel with the design and twitched according to the feedback given by possible students that were consulting the site. This back and forth process gave the website a maturity that was not possible without the feedback and the consequent reflections that derived from it.

The Student Framework

This interface allowed the students to define their learning profile and communicate that to the school prior to their application. The objective was to communicate the value of self learning while engaging the potential students in the school philosophy from an early stage.

Application Process

The application process was thought to be as simple and fast as possible.
I’ve designed a card system that allowed the user to channel it’s focus on just one topic at a time by unlocking only the card that is being filled.

By doing this we managed to remove visual noise and creating a more pleasant experience.
