Twintip Skate Co. - BFA Senior Project, 2017

Founded in 2017, Twintip Skate Co. is a fictional American street skateboard manufacturer that makes an effort to speak to the underdog and the rebellious culture of skateboarding. Twintip Skate Co. allows skateboarders to use their greatest weapon, their board, to fight back. Each season of graphics showcases relevant current events and the socioeconomic climate, allowing every skater to choose what matters to them most. Rooted in the belief that doing the right thing is the most important thing one can do, Twintip grants skaters the option to speak out and simultaneously support the skateboarding community through Skate It Forward.

The name Twintip comes from the omnidirectIonality of the modern street skateboard, the binary of politics, and the relationship between skateboarders. We may be on different sides of the board, but we’re a part of the same deck.
The Twintip Skate Co. wordmark was completely hand-lettered beginning to end, drawing inspiration both from characters found in street art, as well as shapes and swashed found commonly in luxury clothing and jewelry brands.
Mockups of the 8 main skateboard graphics, each commenting on a specific socio-political issue facing Americans today.
One of several stickers designed and printed for ephemera from the exhibition show, along with several tee shirts that were given away after the show.
Wall mural tagged with spray paint inside the Ridenbaugh Gallery in Moscow, ID.
Skate It Forward donation board, complete with trucks and wheels printed with the Twintip Skate Co. logo.
