Home for Martin
Location: Budapest, Hungary
Area: 73 m2

This home belongs to Martin, a Danish manager who has lived in Budapest for a few years and decided to make this city his permanent location. The first step was to find the best downtown apartment to dwell. The centrally located V. district of Budapest seemed to be a good area for Martin: he has an outgoing personality and he loves to spend his time in the downtown.

When we first met he imagined a living area with a so-called hospital style: white, shiny, somewhat sterile. But as we started working together it turned out that he loves oak, tapestry and contrasts. So day by day - as we chose the materials and furnishing - the concept was getting homier. Also he has plenty of interests and hobbies such as golfing, wine and traveling, and the objects related to these make the interior more characteristic.

Martin and Emese are already working on a new project - dreaming has just begun

Bedroom - Living room: during the renovation and now

Martin's home hides and shows plenty of tools like a golf kit, mountain bike or a ski

At one point during the planning Martin casually mentioned that he inherited some furniture that we could use. And if a Danish person tells you this, and you are an architect, it means that you got lucky. The vintage lamps, armchair and other items became our personal favourites of the project. We completed these highlights with modern Danish icons from Muuto and Normann Copenhagen.
We carefully selected all the items from the material of the countertop to modern furnitures.

The kitchen had to be completely renovated: walls, floor layers, wires and cables

This attic room always has the good vibes and awaits Martin's guests
