Cargo bike
This bike was designed for the Wiki - Bike contest.
A bicycle can make the difference in this world. A bicycle can be a tool in reducing poverty
in Africa, improving access to health care, education and potable water as well as being a
catalyst in combating climate change. With this African Bicycle Design Contest we aim to
design bicycles tuned to the needs of (potential) bicycle users in Africa.
In the design process I thinked in how hard is their lives in Africa, supporting really hot temperatures, with all kind of surfaces, rocks, sand, gravel, etc, and most important, the people for who is destined this project.
This bike is entirely made of Chrome steel, with all terrain tires, a Shimano Alfine 4 v rear hub, and V-brakes.Also it has a belt transmision, this combination makes a really low maintenance bike, that will last long in this extreme conditions.
