LIBRARY ON KOSANČIĆEV VENAC

   Library is a gathering of knowledge, and if she has a prefix "National", then her importance grows, and that importance is for one Nation, but as well for human kind.

   As a target, in bombing of Belgrade in 6. 4. 1941., she was in front of military goals, her importance was recognized only as National, therefore she was destroyed (within building there was destroyed 300 000 printed books, 1 500 medieval books, old Turkish written and printed books, old maps, engravings, paintings and newspapers).

   There was a huge negligence toward written books that last till today. Site was excavated after 35 years and today most of things that was found is destroyed or lost.

   Because of great importance, it is necessary to make a monument to remember and collect everything that survived and try to rebuild inventory of library. For these needs we must build house wish will keep everything, symbolically on place of old library, but with respect of older Roman ruins.

   This project is that house that will collect remains, but also another one which will make new artefacts that will celebrate memory trough several medias.
