This project was to make a magazine cover for Photoshop.

As with every project the first thing I did was sketch out my idea. I chose to do Black Belt Magazine as that would be a dream come true. I noticed the dark themed backgrounds that they have so I chose to do this gray background with an almost center spotlight in it to focus on the picture. After getting the background done I added the logo. The logo didn't fit with the background so I had to vector it on Illustrator and cut out the white that stuck to make it fit with my colors. I then applied the header text in red above the logo as many magazines are laid out. The next thing I did was to take my picture, load it up and quick select it out of my background. I placed myself in the background and moved myself around to center. The next thing I did was add the remaining texts. I gave them color and rotated some slightly to create a line that pointed at the center image. I also placed a circle with no fill, but a small stroke and text inside. This appears on many magazines as an "added value inside" type of proposition. So I added my own unique bonus feature inside my circle. Finally I found a barcode on google, quick selected that out and placed it in my bottom right corner. I added text of the date and the job was done. I used typography, shapes, lines, color and many more elements and principles.
