Bringing the recumbant bicycle into the 21st century

Back in 2012, Mark was contracted to design the modern recumbent bike.

Contrary to what has already been done, we decided to produce a sleek minimalist, elegant and functional solution. No frills or decorations necessary. Although the user is protected from the elements (rain, dust, pollutants...), it is not enclosed in complicated and expensive bodywork. The idea is to make a 3-piece body. In the unlikely event that the body be damaged, only the part concerned would need to be replaced (and not the entire body).
Simplicity above all else

The basis of the design is the following structure. We are looking for a clean finish 'à la Apple'. 3 master pieces, plus a fourth central connecting piece (D) containing, the pedals and the battery pack.

A: The 'bonnet', in which the rear lights will be inserted, and will offer protection for the user.

B: The ‘tub’: this part wants to mirror part A for a harmonious design.More than decorative, this part will allow us to fix storage on either side of the passenger.

C: the ‘nose’. This part extends on either side of the windshield, providing structural integrity. The nose is aerodynamic. Inside the nose, in front of the pedals, we will install more storage in the form of a net.
We've explored various architecture revisions of the rear lower section (B) and the front part (C). The idea of having the front wheel “swallowed” by the front part as on the Sinclair X1 was abandonned.
