Framing and Space allow us to see the dogs and stuffing without too much empty space.

This is Binx(left) and Bindi(right). Binx is a good boy, but Bindi is a 7-month-old Catahoula who requires a lot of attention. Binx is her favorite chew toy. Stuffing from other toys is on the ground next to them.
Rule of Thirds and Lines help direct our eyes throughout this image so we can gather the details.

This is Bindi's backyard. New toys come here to die every day. She is upset right now because she doesn't like her harness. She is about to hike to the top of that mountain in the background.
Unity and Emphasis play a role in this image. The dogs stand out from the dark colors of the vehicle and their harnesses and look unify them inside the vehicle.

Bindi gets car sick and sometimes throws up. Binx does not like being stuck in the back with her.
Lines and Contrast guide our eyes to follow where Bindi is smelling. The overexposed area of the shot is almost ignored because of the subject.

On the trail, Bindi finds a campsite. She inspects the area for any food crumbs.
Rule of Thirds, Textures, and Contrast help this shot look entertaining and informative.

Binx and Bindi smell everything on the trail. It is a steep hike, but they have enough energy to keep sniffing.
Contrast and Emphasis direct our eyes to the distance while the foreground almost blends together.

Bindi sneaks into a shot almost to the top of the mountain.
Shape and Form, and Balance complete this shot because our eyes want to examine Binx then move to Bindi in the back while quickly gazing past the out of focus distance.

Binx is tired from the long hike while Bindi looks for more things to smell.
Emphasis and Rule of Thirds help us see the Binx's emotion and a distracted Bindi in the background.

Binx wants to go home. He is still a good boy. Bindi roams in the back like a shark hunting for prey. Binx is nervous.
Lines and Textures draw our eyes up the hill and across the horizon to see Bindi (crossing both planes) while walking on the rocky, loose ground.

Bindi finally gets tired after playing fetch at the top of the mountain. The view does not impress her though.
Emphasis and Rhythm are key components of this image. Our focus in on Bindi's face while the pattern and color of her bed give a foundation to the distance and size shown in this shot.

Bindi is finally asleep. If Binx is lucky he will have a couple hours all to himself.
