The area of Montcada on the outskirts of Barcelona was given for the project. The task being to reimagine this area, turn it from a negative space into a positive one.

The towns of Valbona and Meridiana are isolated from each other by the C-17 highway, the rail road and the structures of the C-58 and C-33 highways. These circumstances create a buffer zone that is very hard to cross for the pedestrian inhabitants of the towns.

The goal of the project is to connect these towns, by creating a safe pedestrian passage for the people.

To make this route, existing structures of the overhead highway bridges are used. By creating a street in the sky a new experience of getting across from one town to the other is created.

By analysing the territory, the shortest connecting points are established. Resulting in a four segment street. In addition to the crossing function a new multilevel urban space is created. A commercial area is put underneath the highway bridges, becoming a new attraction point for the people.
