The Six Sigma methodology provides all manner of business entities with the capabilities they need to enhance their business outcomes. A marked departure from the conjecture-based business processes of the past, these steps provide a foundation for analytical improvement.

Business professionals may become experts in the Six Sigma process by earning their designation as Certified Six Sigma Black Belts (CSSBBs). Those who hold this coveted certification are capable of fully explaining each step and philosophy related to Six Sigma. Moreover, these individuals are competent in leadership roles that require them to oversee enterprise project teams. CSSBBs also regularly work with Six Sigma Green and Black Belts to instruct them in the Six Sigma methodology.

To obtain their certification as Black Belts, individuals must first complete training in the Six Sigma process. Held over the course of four weeks, these lessons help them hone their expertise in statistical practices that they must then use in up to two professional projects. CSSBB candidates must also sit for a 165-question examination that covers a variety of topics regarding the Six Sigma process.
