Throughthe open-elective,“Revival of Regional Folk Music”, we, a group of 16 NIDians,came together to understand the language and elements of folk music in India.The course aimed at sensitizing us to the nuances of folk styles prevalent inour country.
ShriRajat Dholakia, a renowned Music Composer, guided us in this process ofexploration. He is one of the very rare music talents who can work with casualease for Ad Jingles to folk compositions.
Hereis an attempt to present an amalgamation of various expressions of Indian Folkstyles written, composed and sung by fellow NIDians.
Thisis a collaborative effort as part of an academic course. Since, it was not acommercial venture, no professionals were involved in the project.
At the end we produced a small sand animation video to go alongthe song for the release of the song.
