Museum Exhibits and Displays

These are some of the exhibits and displays I have designed, constructed, or assembled at the National Cryptologic Museum at NSA, Fort Meade MD. Many of the displays were constructed with no funds using
in- house resources. I also arranged the artifacts in the display cases and created labels and signage for the items. There are also images of the CryptoKid Challenge, a scavenger hunt game for school age children using museum exhibits and clues in code featuring the CryptoKid characters from nsa.gov/kids website.
Cryptologic Treasures Display -
I came up with the concept and rough sketch for the hanging display cases on this display. Terri Askew was the Lead Designer and Art Director on the project. The cases hang on a custom track that allows cases to be rearranged for different artifacts. I set the cases and arranged the artifacts in each case.
Nash Letters Exhibit -
John Nash, featured in the movie "A Beautiful Mind" sent a series of letters to the NSA. The letters and display were featured on a National Geographic program about the NSA. This is the first time the letters have been displayed. I directed the design of the letter stands using rough sketches and placed the letters and artifacts into the case. I also designed the signage in the case.
"The Magic of Purple" -
Exhibit that tells the story of the cryptographers who broke the Japanese code "Purple" at the beginning of WW2 changing the course of the war. I was Art Director and Lead Designer on this project, designing the display elements, producing and installing them using in-house resources.
This is a commemorative print I designed featuring the NSA/CSS Memorial wall located inside of NSA secure spaces. The memorial recognizes the men and women who have died in service where they cannot be publicly recognized.  The print was signed by the Director and Deputy Director of NSA and presented family members who attended recognition ceremonies at the memorial.

I photographed the memorial, added painting effects and images of military personnel and did the final layout.

The CryptoKid Challenge is very popular with children who visit the National Cryptologic Museum. When they enter the museum they are given a crypto wheel and an answer sheet. To find each answer they have to decode the clues throughout the museum. When they complete the game they get a prize.
